KNEE PAIN

Knee pain is a common and undesirable symptom that we see regularly at Motus Health. It can present itself in a number of ways including direct injury, such as twisting the joint during sport, or more gradually over a longer period of time owing to factors such as repetitive or poor movement patterns.

What causes of knee pain?

Whether it’s due to injury or wear-and-tear, knee issues can be especially debilitating. Keeping active can become nearly impossible and in some cases even simple tasks like walking up stairs or getting up from sitting can be a challenge.

Some common sources of knee pain include:

  • Knee Bursitis

  • Fractures

  • Tendinitis (Tendonopathy)

  • Arthritis

  • Dislocations

  • Referred pain

Some of the common knee injuries we see include:

  • Meniscal Tears

  • Quadriceps/Patella Tendinopathy/Tendinitis

  • Hamstring Muscle Strains & Tears

  • Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Tears

  • Calf Muscle Strain

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Chondromalacia Patella

How do we treat knee pain?

Like every client we see, we tailor our treatment for knee pain specifically to meet your individual needs. Through our thorough assessment we obtain a full overview of the issue and develop a plan based on your personal goals.

At Motus health we strongly believe that a preventative approach which involves strengthening your knees is the most effective solution. We approach the root of the problem, not just the symptoms. Our personalised treatments often include a combination of manual therapy, as well as strengthening and stretching exercises.

If you have recently suffered a knee injury or are experiencing ongoing knee pain, please don’t hesitate to book a consultation with us at Motus Health. It’s never too late to take that first step!
