ELBOW AND ARM PAIN

Pain, tingling or numbness around the elbow, arm or wrist can often be a sign of an overuse injury. These symptoms can be caused by a range of issues, but they’re commonly associated with overloading muscles and tendons.

What causes elbow pain?

While you may have heard the term “golfer’s elbow” or “tennis elbow”, they are not the only ones who can suffer from elbow or arm pain. Many repetitive lower arm movements can cause it.

Repetitive movements in your lower arms are actually one of the most common causes of elbow and arm pain and repeatedly cause stress to the tendons and muscles either side of your elbow.

Some other common causes of elbow and arm pain include:

  • Fractures

  • Sprains / Strains

  • Dislocations

  • Muscle imbalances / weakness

  • Poor recovery

How do we treat elbow pain?

Like every client we see, we tailor our treatment for elbow pain specifically to meet your individual needs. Through our thorough assessment we obtain a full overview of the issue and develop a plan based on your personal goals.

Elbow and arm pain regularly flares up when you grip, shake, or lift something. So often the first priority is to give the overworked muscles and tendons in your arms an opportunity to recover. This is usually followed by a simple exercise regime to build up the tolerance in your arms.

Luckily, the vast majority of elbow and arm pain can be resolved without surgery. so If you have recently suffered a recent elbow injury or are experiencing ongoing elbow or arm pain, please don’t hesitate to book a consultation with us at Motus Health. It’s never too late to take that first step!
